This is a small selection of some of the spaces, places, and faces that I have captured on my visual journey in American Studies. I have always believed that what we learn outside the classroom is just as important as what we learn in the classroom. My personal experiences have shaped who I am as a writer and greatly inspired the projects that I am currently working on. The images in this gallery will be a part of my first exhibit at Mio Studio. Stay tuned for additional photo galleries and future essays on many of these images.
I first moved to Lancaster in 2002 and have worked with a large number of non-profits and community organizations ever since. I have captured the changing seasons, the character of our city, the diversity of our region, and the many people and organizations that make Lancaster County such a special place to live.
I have travelled across the country during my time in the Ph.D. program. When I decided on the Urban (Social) Blend name for my work, I decided to put together collages that represented my experiences in each city.
There will be (100) 4 x 4 prints of each collage available before moving on to a new collage for a particular city. The first locations that I have released are: Lancaster, PA; Asbury Park, NJ; Cape Cod, MA; Lincoln, NE; New Orleans, LA; New York, NY; Ogunquit, ME; San Diego, CA; Cape May, NJ; and Santa Fe, NM
Future releases will include: Los Angeles, CA; Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Denver, CO; Harrisburg, PA; and Reading, PA
